The Leadership Development Institute (LDI) International is a professional organization headquartered in Richmond, VA. Our services include company tailored leadership development, education, and training programs, leadership succession planning, developing global leadership competencies, preparing women for senior leadership roles, conducting leadership surveys, seminars and workshops.

The senior principal, Dr. Karin Klenke holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology and has served on the faculties of the University of Colorado, George Washington University, the University of Richmond, Regent University, Averett University, Old Dominion University and the University of Pretoria. She has published numerous books and articles in the leadership, management, psychological, and research methods journals. She currently serves on the editorial boards of Leadership published by Sage in the UK, the Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion, an Academy of management Journal, the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Development and The Qualitative Report. She is the founding editor of the Journal of Management Systems (JMS) and served as the Editor-in-Chiefof JMS for more than a decade.

Associates of LDI International include scholars, researchers, and practitioners in management, leadership, education and technology with conceptual and applied expertise to support the programs and services offered by LDI International whose values, passion, and commitment are consistent with the goals of the organization.

About LDI
 
Leadership Development, Education and Training Programs

Preparations for the leadership role require effort, endurance, perseverance and take place over time. They also require a continuous commitment to learning. LDI International, through its program of general and special interest, provides a forum for continuous learning by exposing organizational leaders to multidisciplinary approaches to leadership and creating multi-organizational leadership communities within and beyond each program.

The programs offered by LDI International fall into six categories: (1) public education programs; (2) customized in-house leadership education and development programs; (3) customized on-site training programs; (4) consulting services; (5) LEEPTM; and (6) Leadership Guild TM

Public Education Programs
These are freestanding workshops, tutorials and seminars that are offered in select locations.

Customized in-House Programs
The majority of the programs in this category are leadership retreats for senior managers and executives who come together to articulate or clarify the visions of their organizations, and how to communicate them. Some of the programs that are offered as public education programs such as leadership succession planning or developing global leadership competencies are also tailored to the needs of a single organization.

Customized On-Site Training
The emphasis in these programs is on the development of specific, teachable leadership skills rather than long term leadership development. Among the specific skills are decision-making, communication, conflict management and teambuilding.

Consulting Services
Here we provide long-term services designed for organizational problem solving across a range of leadership issues
